As a High School Social Sciences Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of critical thinkers and global citizens. You will design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that align with the IB Diploma Programme and promote social-emotional learning. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver inquiry-driven, culturally responsive Social Sciences curriculum aligned with the IB Diploma Programme.
- Foster critical thinking, research skills, and global citizenship through interdisciplinary and real-world learning experiences.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
- Support students’ social-emotional development and well-being through inclusive and reflective teaching practices.
- Engage in continuous professional growth, including peer observations, professional development, and curriculum innovation.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments that reflect student progress and achievement.
- Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and other community-building activities.
- Stay current with global issues and integrate them into lesson planning and student discussions.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, or related field.
- Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification in relevant jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the high school level.
- Experience teaching within the IB Diploma Programme or equivalent international curriculum.
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based and culturally responsive pedagogy.
- Commitment to student well-being, safeguarding, and professional ethics.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Education or Social Sciences.
- Experience with interdisciplinary teaching and project-based learning.
- Fluency in multiple languages.
- Experience with digital learning tools and online teaching platforms.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in curriculum development or professional learning communities.
