Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff in delivering high-quality education to pupils with special educational needs
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the needs of each student
  • Assist in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages personal growth and development
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure a consistent approach to student support
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide regular feedback to the teaching team
  • Promote positive behavior and emotional well-being through structured and supportive interactions
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development
  • Liaise with parents and carers to keep them informed of student progress and needs

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant NVQ Level 3 and a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification or equivalent
  • Significant experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a special needs setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Preferred

  • Experience working with children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder or Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
  • Previous experience in planning and delivering complementary learning activities
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices
  • Experience in supporting students with speech, language, and communication difficulties
