The Opportunity:
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students across all key stages. You will work closely with class teachers to deliver high-quality educational support, manage student behaviour, and help students achieve their academic and personal goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Support class teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons to students across all key stages
- Assist with the management of student behaviour and the promotion of positive conduct in the classroom
- Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and providing emotional support
- Adapt teaching and support strategies to meet the individual needs of students with complex learning and behavioural needs
- Plan and deliver targeted support sessions to help students achieve their academic and personal development goals
- Collaborate with teaching staff to review student progress and adjust support strategies as needed
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to ensure consistent and high-quality support for students
- Support students during educational visits and transport to and from school
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience working as a teaching assistant in a classroom environment
- A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) relevant to teaching and learning
- A full, clean driving licence
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Demonstrated resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- A caring and compassionate nature with the ability to support students with complex needs
Preferred
- Experience working with students who have emotional and behavioural difficulties, autism, or ADHD
- Experience in providing one-to-one support to students
- Experience in planning and delivering individualised learning programmes
- Experience with safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Experience with vocational and practical learning environments
