The Opportunity:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students across all key stages. You will work closely with class teachers to deliver high-quality educational support, manage student behaviour, and help students achieve their academic and personal goals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support class teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons to students across all key stages
  • Assist with the management of student behaviour and the promotion of positive conduct in the classroom
  • Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and providing emotional support
  • Adapt teaching and support strategies to meet the individual needs of students with complex learning and behavioural needs
  • Plan and deliver targeted support sessions to help students achieve their academic and personal development goals
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to review student progress and adjust support strategies as needed
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to ensure consistent and high-quality support for students
  • Support students during educational visits and transport to and from school

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Previous experience working as a teaching assistant in a classroom environment
  • A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) relevant to teaching and learning
  • A full, clean driving licence
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A caring and compassionate nature with the ability to support students with complex needs

Preferred

  • Experience working with students who have emotional and behavioural difficulties, autism, or ADHD
  • Experience in providing one-to-one support to students
  • Experience in planning and delivering individualised learning programmes
  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Experience with vocational and practical learning environments
