Join a dynamic team as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with autism. You will play a key role in supporting learning, promoting emotional regulation, and helping students achieve their full potential in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead small group or one-to-one interventions tailored to the specific needs of students
  • Collaborate with teachers and wellbeing teams to support students’ emotional regulation and engagement
  • Develop and implement strategies that promote positive behaviour and self-regulation
  • Maintain strong, positive relationships with students and act as a trusted adult
  • Support the planning, delivery, and assessment of interventions that align with educational goals
  • Assist in the professional development of teaching assistants through mentoring and sharing expertise
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in working with students with autism and special educational needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead and adapt interventions based on individual student needs
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Experience in supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management

Preferred

  • Experience in mentoring or training other teaching assistants
  • Familiarity with the Thrive Approach or similar therapeutic frameworks
  • Knowledge of education and health care plans
  • Experience with ICT tools for tracking progress and communication
