Key Responsibilities:
- Lead small group or one-to-one interventions tailored to the specific needs of students
- Collaborate with teachers and wellbeing teams to support students’ emotional regulation and engagement
- Develop and implement strategies that promote positive behaviour and self-regulation
- Maintain strong, positive relationships with students and act as a trusted adult
- Support the planning, delivery, and assessment of interventions that align with educational goals
- Assist in the professional development of teaching assistants through mentoring and sharing expertise
- Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in working with students with autism and special educational needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and adapt interventions based on individual student needs
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Experience in supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management
Preferred
- Experience in mentoring or training other teaching assistants
- Familiarity with the Thrive Approach or similar therapeutic frameworks
- Knowledge of education and health care plans
- Experience with ICT tools for tracking progress and communication
