Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in planning, delivering, and assessing the curriculum.
  • Assist in the management and preparation of resources for lessons.
  • Supervise classes in the absence of teaching staff.
  • Promote student independence and raise achievement standards.
  • Contribute to the development of support staff and academy policies.
  • Provide pastoral support to students and assist with inclusion strategies.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance classroom practices.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to inform teaching strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in an educational setting, preferably as a teaching assistant.
  • Advanced knowledge of curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to supporting student welfare and inclusion.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and/or complex SEMH needs.
  • Familiarity with alternative provision and inclusive education practices.
  • Previous experience in a school or academy setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
