The Opportunity:
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting teachers and students, contributing to curriculum delivery and fostering independent learning. This is an impactful opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in planning, delivering, and assessing the curriculum.
- Assist in the management and preparation of resources for lessons.
- Supervise classes in the absence of teaching staff.
- Promote student independence and raise achievement standards.
- Contribute to the development of support staff and academy policies.
- Provide pastoral support to students and assist with inclusion strategies.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance classroom practices.
- Monitor and assess student progress to inform teaching strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in an educational setting, preferably as a teaching assistant.
- Advanced knowledge of curriculum planning and delivery.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to supporting student welfare and inclusion.
Preferred
- Experience working with students with special educational needs and/or complex SEMH needs.
- Familiarity with alternative provision and inclusive education practices.
- Previous experience in a school or academy setting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
