The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and support the delivery of a broad, creative curriculum. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with speech, language, and communication needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguard and promote pupil welfare in line with school policies.
  • Lead classes in the absence of the teacher and deliver engaging learning activities.
  • Support individual pupil learning plans and contribute to review processes.
  • Adapt and develop teaching resources to meet the needs of students.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to learning.
  • Assist in the delivery of specialist subjects such as phonics, food tech, and PE.
  • Contribute to the overall aims and objectives of the school when required.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).
  • GCSE in Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent).
  • HLTA Diploma or Level 4 qualification (or equivalent skills and experience).

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or supporting children with autism or Asperger’s Syndrome.
  • Knowledge of specialist teaching strategies for SLCN.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
