The Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and support the delivery of a broad, creative curriculum. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with speech, language, and communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safeguard and promote pupil welfare in line with school policies.
- Lead classes in the absence of the teacher and deliver engaging learning activities.
- Support individual pupil learning plans and contribute to review processes.
- Adapt and develop teaching resources to meet the needs of students.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to learning.
- Assist in the delivery of specialist subjects such as phonics, food tech, and PE.
- Contribute to the overall aims and objectives of the school when required.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).
- GCSE in Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent).
- HLTA Diploma or Level 4 qualification (or equivalent skills and experience).
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or supporting children with autism or Asperger’s Syndrome.
- Knowledge of specialist teaching strategies for SLCN.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
