Key Responsibilities:
- Support class teachers in delivering high-quality education and care to students with autism.
- Assist with pupil behaviour management and the development of positive relationships with students.
- Adapt teaching practices to meet the individual needs of students.
- Provide role modelling and support in a structured and predictable environment.
- Promote independence and life skills development in students.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure consistent support across the school.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in working with children with autism or learning difficulties.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to support and manage student behaviour effectively.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across different key stages.
Preferred
- Previous experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant.
- Knowledge of autism and associated learning difficulties.
- Experience in special education settings.
- Experience with behaviour management strategies.
- Demonstrated interest in ongoing professional development.
