The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support students in literacy development and deliver targeted interventions, including phonics. This role is essential in helping students achieve academic success while addressing their social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality literacy interventions, including phonics, to support student progress.
• Work closely with the SENCO and Academic Intervention Team to design and implement individual and group work programmes.
• Provide tailored support to complex pupils, addressing their academic, social, and emotional needs.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust strategies as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
• Support the delivery of inclusive and engaging classroom activities.
• Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
• Recent experience of working with young people in an educational setting.
• Strong literacy skills and the ability to deliver targeted interventions.
• Experience in supporting students with complex needs, including social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

• Experience in delivering phonics-based literacy interventions.
• Knowledge of SEN and inclusive education practices.
• Experience working within a school setting and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• A commitment to continuous professional development.
