The Opportunity:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Maths, you will support teaching staff in delivering the curriculum and contribute to improving student achievement. You will play a key role in assisting with planning, monitoring, and managing classes, while helping students develop into independent learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff in the planning, delivery, and assessment of maths lessons.
  • Assist in the management and preparation of resources for maths classes.
  • Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
  • Provide individual and group support to students to enhance their learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of other support staff and academy policies.
  • Promote student welfare and inclusion in all aspects of school life.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to inform teaching strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure consistent and high-quality teaching practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in a teaching or learning support role, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of maths curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and inclusion.
  • Experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Higher Level Teaching Assistant role.
  • Qualifications in education or maths-related subjects.
  • Experience with curriculum development and resource creation.
  • Familiarity with current educational technologies and tools.
  • Experience in mentoring or training other support staff.
