The Opportunity:
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Maths, you will support teaching staff in delivering the curriculum and contribute to improving student achievement. You will play a key role in assisting with planning, monitoring, and managing classes, while helping students develop into independent learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching staff in the planning, delivery, and assessment of maths lessons.
- Assist in the management and preparation of resources for maths classes.
- Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
- Provide individual and group support to students to enhance their learning outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of other support staff and academy policies.
- Promote student welfare and inclusion in all aspects of school life.
- Monitor and assess student progress to inform teaching strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers to ensure consistent and high-quality teaching practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant experience in a teaching or learning support role, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of maths curriculum and teaching methods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and inclusion.
- Experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Preferred
- Experience in a Higher Level Teaching Assistant role.
- Qualifications in education or maths-related subjects.
- Experience with curriculum development and resource creation.
- Familiarity with current educational technologies and tools.
- Experience in mentoring or training other support staff.
