The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History and Politics teacher to join our talented and well-established Humanities team. This role offers the opportunity to inspire and challenge students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, as well as teach Politics at A Level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, and Politics at A Level.
  • Inspire and challenge students to achieve their full potential academically and personally.
  • Support students in their education, wellbeing, and personal development.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and learning in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of the Humanities department.
  • Engage students in critical thinking and discussion around historical and political topics.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum developments and best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to the school’s mission of preparing students to be responsible, active members of society.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in History and Politics.
  • Experience teaching History and Politics at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, and A Level.
  • Strong commitment to student wellbeing and personal development.
  • Excellent classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering innovative and engaging lessons.
  • Experience with assessment and marking practices.
  • Experience with pastoral support and student mentoring.
  • Familiarity with the use of information and communication technologies in teaching.
