Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging History lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5.
- Support students in achieving excellent outcomes, with a focus on both attainment and progress.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Learning (Social Sciences) and other department heads to maintain and enhance the quality of teaching and learning.
- Contribute to the development of the History curriculum and assessment strategies.
- Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students where appropriate.
- Participate in staff development and training opportunities.
- Engage in extra-curricular activities and school events that promote History and related subjects.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
- Relevant subject knowledge and experience in teaching History at KS3, KS4, and KS5.
- Experience of working in a high-performing school environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience of leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
- Experience of teaching a range of ability levels and supporting student progress.
- Experience of working with diverse student groups and families.
