Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons that inspire and engage students of all abilities.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the History curriculum.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through innovative and evidence-based teaching methods.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the school.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance subject knowledge and teaching practice.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the school’s ethos.
  • Engage in pastoral responsibilities and contribute to the wider school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
  • Relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Experience of teaching History at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching A Level History.
  • Experience of curriculum design and development.
  • Experience of working in a school with a strong focus on student outcomes.
  • Experience of leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
