The Opportunity:

We are seeking an inspiring and enthusiastic History Teacher to join our outstanding department. This role offers the chance to teach highly able students who often go on to study History and related subjects at top universities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Support students in achieving excellent academic results, including progression to top universities.
  • Contribute to the development of the History department and its curriculum.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities and school events.
  • Provide pastoral care and mentorship to students where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the school.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and CPD opportunities.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching History at Key Stage 3 and 4, ideally with A Level experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and academic excellence.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A Level Economics.
  • Experience working with gifted and talented students.
  • Involvement in co-curricular or extra-curricular activities.
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language.
