The Opportunity:

As a History Teacher, you will inspire a love of the subject in students from Year 7 to Year 13. You will deliver high-quality lessons that drive student progress in a supportive and structured environment. This is an exciting opportunity for both Early Career Teachers and experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective History lessons to students across Key Stages 3 to 5.
  • Foster strong relationships with students and their families to support their learning and development.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to maintain a focused and productive classroom environment.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the History curriculum and teaching methods.
  • Participate in the school's Professional Development Programme and utilise allocated non-contact time for pedagogical development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through individualised and group-based learning activities.
  • Stay up to date with current events and historical developments to enhance the relevance of the History curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching History at Key Stages 3 to 5
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to student progress and academic achievement
  • Ability to manage and maintain positive classroom behaviour

Preferred

  • Experience working with Early Career Teachers
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Experience in leading or contributing to staff training initiatives
