The Opportunity:
As a History Teacher, you will inspire a love of the subject in students from Year 7 to Year 13. You will deliver high-quality lessons that drive student progress in a supportive and structured environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective History lessons to students across Key Stages 3 to 5.
- Foster strong relationships with students and their families to support their learning and development.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to maintain a focused and productive classroom environment.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the History curriculum and teaching methods.
- Participate in the school's Professional Development Programme and utilise allocated non-contact time for pedagogical development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through individualised and group-based learning activities.
- Stay up to date with current events and historical developments to enhance the relevance of the History curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching History at Key Stages 3 to 5
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to student progress and academic achievement
- Ability to manage and maintain positive classroom behaviour
Preferred
- Experience working with Early Career Teachers
- Experience in curriculum development
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
- Experience in leading or contributing to staff training initiatives
