The Opportunity:

As a History Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping young minds within a dynamic and supportive department. You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality education at KS3, KS4, and potentially A Level and IB History, with opportunities for professional development and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that inspire a love of history among students.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support student achievement and progression.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall quality of the History Department.
  • Monitor and assess student performance to ensure continuous improvement and success in examinations.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities related to history.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback to students and parents.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching History at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching A Level or IB History.
  • Familiarity with Quaker values and ethos.
  • Experience in developing and leading extracurricular history-related activities.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
