The Opportunity:

A History Teacher is required on a full-time, temporary basis to cover maternity leave starting in June 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and experienced teacher to make a real impact on student learning and development within a supportive and high-achieving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Plan and implement a curriculum that aligns with the school’s vision and educational standards.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of the History department and contribute to departmental planning.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the school.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and senior staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and appropriate teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching History at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong classroom management and delivery skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and personal development.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on additional responsibilities.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching in a multi-academy trust or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and best practice in History teaching.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
