The Opportunity:

As an HLTA, you will support teaching and learning by planning, preparing, and delivering lessons under supervision. You will help students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality learning experiences to individuals, groups, and whole classes.
  • Plan and prepare engaging and effective lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Assist students in developing self-esteem, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning.
  • Provide targeted support to students with additional needs, ensuring they can access and benefit from all learning opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and students.
  • Participate in staff development and training sessions to enhance teaching and support strategies.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the school and support the wider educational community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in education or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to supporting student achievement and well-being.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with additional needs.
  • Experience in lesson planning and delivery.
  • Familiarity with teaching and learning strategies.
  • Previous experience in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
