The Opportunity:

As a Housemaster Senior Boys, you will be responsible for the well-being, discipline, and academic progress of students in the Senior Boys' House. This role is essential to creating a safe, nurturing, and inspiring living environment for students within a vibrant international community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional pastoral support to pupils, identifying individual needs and fostering their personal and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure pupils’ backgrounds and circumstances are effectively integrated into their learning journey.
  • Monitor and support pupils' academic performance, assisting with online learning and working closely with tutors.
  • Offer guidance and support on emotional, academic, social, or behavioural challenges in partnership with the College Counsellor.
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies, reporting concerns and maintaining accurate records on the safeguarding platform.
  • Implement the College's Behaviour Policy, applying a fair system of rewards and consequences to maintain a positive House culture.
  • Manage daily operations, including attendance, registration, and liaising with medical staff regarding student health needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, keeping them informed and addressing any concerns effectively.
  • Mentor and support a team of tutors and staff, ensuring they are familiar with child protection policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or residential role within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Experience in safeguarding and child protection, with a clear understanding of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team, promoting a safe and positive environment.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Experience in a boarding school or international school setting.
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and academic support systems.
  • Knowledge of British boarding traditions and a commitment to fostering a strong sense of community.
  • Experience in sports, music, or the arts, with an interest in student development beyond the classroom.
