The Opportunity:

As an HR Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and managing the school’s human resources strategy. You will lead the HR team and support the school in creating a positive, professional, and legally compliant workplace that empowers staff and drives school success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to retirement.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the school’s objectives and best practices.
  • Provide expert advice on legal compliance, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff to ensure a productive and supportive work environment.
  • Support the development of HR policies and practices that promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure HR initiatives support the school’s strategic goals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with staff and ensure effective communication across the school.
  • Monitor and report on HR metrics to support continuous improvement and compliance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior HR role, preferably within the education sector.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing the full employee lifecycle.
  • Ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an academy or multi-academy trust environment.
  • Familiarity with school-specific HR challenges and opportunities.
  • Experience with performance management and training programs.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and school accountability measures.
