The Opportunity:
As an HR Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and managing the school’s human resources strategy. You will lead the HR team and support the school in creating a positive, professional, and legally compliant workplace that empowers staff and drives school success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to retirement.
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the school’s objectives and best practices.
- Provide expert advice on legal compliance, employee relations, and performance management.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff to ensure a productive and supportive work environment.
- Support the development of HR policies and practices that promote a positive workplace culture.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure HR initiatives support the school’s strategic goals.
- Maintain strong relationships with staff and ensure effective communication across the school.
- Monitor and report on HR metrics to support continuous improvement and compliance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior HR role, preferably within the education sector.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in managing the full employee lifecycle.
- Ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
Preferred
- Experience working in an academy or multi-academy trust environment.
- Familiarity with school-specific HR challenges and opportunities.
- Experience with performance management and training programs.
- Knowledge of Ofsted requirements and school accountability measures.
