The Opportunity:
As an HR Officer and Bursar's Assistant, you will support the school’s HR function and provide essential administrative support to the Bursar. This role is central to ensuring the smooth operation of the school and contributing to the success of the Governing Board.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of HR in managing recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and general HR administration.
- Provide high-quality administrative support to the Bursar, including arranging meetings and taking minutes.
- Coordinate the work of the Governing Board and ensure efficient communication and documentation.
- Manage IT systems and maintain accurate records in line with HR and administrative procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, confidentiality, and governance processes.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training and development opportunities.
- Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Contribute to the school’s vibrant extracurricular programme and community spirit.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Confident using IT systems and a willingness to develop digital skills.
- Experience in HR and/or school administration.
- Understanding of safeguarding and governance processes.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
- Experience with recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Familiarity with HR software and administrative systems.
- Knowledge of UK education policies and procedures.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary circa £38,000 per annum, dependent on experience
- 30 days paid holiday inclusive of bank holidays
- Non-contributory pension (10% employer contribution)
