The Opportunity:

As a Human Resources Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the school’s people strategy. You will lead the HR team, streamline processes, and drive initiatives that align with the school’s educational mission, ensuring a supportive and efficient working environment for all staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of HR colleagues, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on all HR-related matters.
  • Oversee the entire employee lifecycle and implement process improvements across HR functions.
  • Redesign HR systems with a focus on automation, particularly in payroll, using advanced Excel skills.
  • Ensure full compliance with Spanish and Catalan labour laws and safeguarding protocols.
  • Develop and implement a long-term talent acquisition and retention strategy for non-teaching staff.
  • Design and manage a performance management system that aligns individual goals with school objectives.
  • Support the HR Officer in maintaining compliance with contracts, collective agreements, and social security contributions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Law, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a senior HR leadership role.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and HRIS systems such as Kairos and Engage.
  • Strong understanding of Spanish labour law, especially as it applies to international and private organizations.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish; Catalan is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in leading HR systems implementation or re-design projects, particularly involving payroll.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in HR or Labour Relations.
  • Experience in the education or non-profit sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
  • Experience in managing a small team and delegating effectively.
