The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Humanities department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Implement innovative approaches to curriculum delivery that engage and challenge all students.
  • Support staff through professional development and collaborative planning.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure continuous improvement in outcomes.
  • Coordinate and deliver impactful extra-curricular activities that enhance the student experience.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide priorities.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion and support that reflects the school’s commitment to student well-being.
  • Ensure the delivery of a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree in a relevant subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • In-depth knowledge of current curriculum developments and their implications for teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum leadership or departmental management.
  • A track record of developing and delivering innovative teaching strategies.
  • Experience working with students who have additional needs or complex backgrounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and students.
