The Opportunity:
As a Humanities Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal development of students. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in Geography, History, and Social Studies, and will be expected to lead by example in both teaching and extra-curricular activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Geography, History, and Social Studies to secondary students.
- Act as a form tutor and support the holistic development of students.
- Use Google Classroom for homework and track student progress effectively.
- Personalise learning to meet the needs of all students, including those with EAL needs.
- Develop and implement subject policies and contribute to curriculum planning.
- Ensure that student work is marked, displayed, and maintained to a high standard.
- Uphold school discipline, safety, and well-being standards consistently.
- Participate in staff training and contribute to the development of the school community.
- Communicate regularly with parents and provide accurate reports on student progress.
- Support school improvement initiatives and maintain high standards of conduct and appearance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Humanities Teacher.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent command of the English language in both written and spoken form.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience working with students for whom English is an additional language.
- Experience in curriculum development and subject leadership.
- Involvement in extra-curricular activities and community engagement.
