The Opportunity:

As a Humanities Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the academic journey of students in a high-performing, forward-thinking school. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver a dynamic Humanities curriculum, while contributing to the school's mission of preparing students for success in university and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a full timetable allocation, covering a generalist Humanities curriculum in Years 7-8 and either Geography or Religious Studies from Year 9 upwards.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons, ensuring effective support for students with additional needs.
  • Promote the study of Humanities throughout the school and encourage student engagement.
  • Attend and actively contribute to departmental meetings and super-curricular initiatives.
  • Participate in lesson observations and work scrutinies to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to develop community partnerships and enhance the learning experience.
  • Support additional responsibilities such as coaching, pastoral care, or teaching Religious Studies where appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • PGCE, QTS or equivalent with strong academic credentials, including a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Significant experience of delivering outstanding Geography or History provision in a high-performing school environment.
  • Ability to teach Geography to A Level.
  • Ability to teach Religious Studies.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong focus on co-curricular and pastoral care.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and innovate in curriculum development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
