The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed IB English Language and Literature Teacher to join a dynamic and supportive department. The role involves teaching both MYP and DP students, with a focus on student-centred, inquiry-based learning. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach IB English Language and Literature courses at both MYP and DP levels
  • Deliver engaging and inquiry-based lessons that promote critical thinking and student agency
  • Support students in developing strong academic and personal skills through pastoral care and PSHE responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues in a large department to enhance curriculum delivery
  • Adapt to a new cultural environment and demonstrate a growth mindset for continuous improvement
  • Act as a homeroom teacher and contribute to the overall well-being of students
  • Participate in assessment and moderation processes, including IB DP English Diploma examiner responsibilities
  • Support the school’s mission by fostering intercultural understanding and global engagement

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognized teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching IB English Language and Literature at both MYP and DP levels
  • Ability to work in a large department and collaborate with colleagues
  • Commitment to student-centred, inquiry-based learning
  • Experience working with English additional language students in a Group 1 first language setting
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students and provide pastoral care

Preferred

  • Experience as an IB DP English Diploma examiner
  • Background in teaching English as a second language
  • Experience in a bilingual educational setting
  • Familiarity with the IB curriculum and teaching methodologies
