The Opportunity:

A school is seeking an IGCSE Physics Teacher to join its growing Science department. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction aligned with the CIE IGCSE Physics syllabus and supporting Key Stage 4 learners in their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective IGCSE Physics lessons aligned with the CIE syllabus.
  • Support Key Stage 4 students in achieving academic success and developing a deep understanding of Physics.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Science department to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and continuous learning initiatives.
  • Provide pastoral care and support through Form Tutoring, if applicable.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using a range of assessment strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching and learning strategies within the school.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching IGCSE Physics at Key Stage 4.
  • Strong understanding of the CIE IGCSE Physics syllabus and the National Curriculum of England and Wales.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English, with a strong grasp of grammar and usage.
  • Proven ability to meet the needs of Key Stage 4 learners.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience with Form Tutoring.
  • Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
  • Experience in continuous professional development and teacher training.
  • Background in the British Curriculum or IB World Schools.
