The Opportunity:
As an Inclusion Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in supporting disaffected students and managing the Inclusion Base. This is a key position that directly impacts student behavior, learning, and emotional well-being. The role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and contribute to the school’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise students who have been relocated or placed in internal isolation.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student behavior and relationships with staff.
- Create a positive and learning-focused environment in the Inclusion Base.
- Work with students to develop self-regulation and emotional well-being strategies.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure consistent student support.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and behavior using online systems.
- Provide regular reports on student engagement and progress.
- Support students in making informed choices about their learning and behavior.
- Liaise with subject leaders and other school departments to ensure appropriate resources are available.
- Contribute to the development of restorative practices that promote positive behavior.
- Assist in the implementation of learning activities and behavior management strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting.
- Proven experience working with disaffected young people.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and external agencies.
- Strong organisational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of confidentiality and information-sharing principles.
- Knowledge of factors contributing to educational disaffection.
- Ability to work flexibly and independently.
- Patience, resilience, and understanding of student challenges.
Preferred
- Qualifications in literacy/numeracy and NVQ Level 2 or above.
- Experience in mentoring students and developing individual learning plans.
- Experience with restorative practices and behaviour management strategies.
- Experience in producing detailed reports and evaluations.
- Experience with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) support.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range: £22,601 – £35,259 (pro rata).
- 32.5 hours per week, term time only.
- Annual leave entitlement including bank holiday payments.
