The Opportunity:

As an Inclusion Supervisor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with challenging behavior and helping them succeed in a structured, inclusive environment. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young people’s lives while working in a supportive and mission-driven school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in managing safeguarding procedures across the school.
  • Intervene with identified pupils to improve behavior and support individual or small groups of pupils as required.
  • Supervise and work with pupils in the Inclusion Room, ensuring they are engaged in learning activities.
  • Help pupils complete work and maintain focus in a calm and structured environment.
  • Facilitate a successful return to normal lessons for students in the Inclusion Unit.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, Heads of Year, and other staff to support pupil needs.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion through daily interactions and practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
  • Previous work experience in a school or similar environment with teenage boys.
  • Awareness of relevant legislation relating to child protection.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
  • Understanding of issues affecting behavior and barriers to learning.
  • Ability to supervise challenging pupils during temporary internal exclusion.
  • A proven ability to work independently and take initiative.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an Inclusion Unit or similar setting.
  • Experience with safeguarding procedures.
  • A commitment to the well-being, self-esteem, and progress of all students.
  • Empathy and patience when working with young people from diverse backgrounds.
