The Opportunity:
A school is seeking an Inclusion Teacher to support students with Additional Support Needs, including those with English as an Additional Language. This role is pivotal in ensuring every student receives tailored support and has the opportunity to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with staff to develop effective teaching strategies and support plans.
- Plan and deliver learning activities in collaboration with class teachers.
- Identify and assess barriers to learning, including language and cognitive challenges.
- Work collegially with specialist services to provide targeted support.
- Contribute to professional development initiatives across the school.
- Manage the Inclusion Register and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Support students with gifts and talents through differentiated instruction and enrichment activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree and post-graduate qualification in education.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Formal post-graduate qualification in Inclusion.
- Proven experience supporting students with Additional Support Needs in a mainstream school.
- Demonstrated excellence in classroom and pedagogical practice.
- Training in the British Curriculum.
Preferred
- Experience in a similar role or position.
- Ability to analyse student outcome data and implement improvements.
- Understanding of curriculum design and development.
- Working towards a NASENCO qualification or similar.
