The Opportunity:
As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure across a group of independent schools and nurseries. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic IT projects and provide second-line support to users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain IT infrastructure across multiple sites
- Provide second-line support and escalate complex issues
- Contribute to project planning and implementation of IT initiatives
- Assist with helpdesk and user support, including academic IT needs
- Manage and document IT processes and configurations
- Install and troubleshoot structured cabling and networking equipment
- Support the deployment and management of cloud-based services and platforms
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in networking, cloud services, and server management
- Knowledge of PC hardware, Windows 10/11, and macOS operating systems
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking and subnets
- Experience with Office 365 and Microsoft products such as Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
- Ability to install and troubleshoot structured cabling (Cat5e/6)
- Working knowledge of Layer2/3 switches and routers
- Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Maths and English)
Preferred
- Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, or AWS certifications
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2019/2022/2025
- Familiarity with Intune and endpoint device management
- Experience with Microsoft Cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, PowerApps, and the Power Platform
- Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware ESXi
- ITIL Foundation certification
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary between £28,000 and £31,000
- 5% employer pension contribution
