IT Technician role at a school in Surrey. Support IT systems and digital technologies for students and staff.

The Opportunity:

As an IT Technician, you will deliver high-quality technical support to students, staff, and parents. You will manage IT systems, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure the smooth operation of digital technologies that support teaching and learning across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for up to 1,500 users.
  • Manage and support pupil laptops from Year 3 upwards.
  • Ensure the effective use of digital technologies in teaching and learning.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to students, staff, and parents.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of IT systems and classroom technologies.
  • Support school-wide IT projects and initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively within a structured, process-driven environment.
  • Maintain and update IT infrastructure to meet the school’s evolving needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working as an IT technician or in a first/second line support role.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in an educational setting, preferably in a school environment.
  • Familiarity with managing IT systems and classroom technologies.

Preferred

  • Experience with pupil IT management and support.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with IT project management.
  • Familiarity with educational software and learning platforms.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
