The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Japanese Teacher - Secondary School to join our dynamic team. This role plays a crucial part in delivering high-quality Japanese education to students within the IB Diploma Programme. The successful candidate will contribute to a vibrant, multicultural learning environment that values innovation, tradition, and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Japanese in the IB DP Japanese ab initio program with a focus on student engagement and academic achievement.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the IB standards and promotes experiential learning.
  • Deliver lessons that incorporate technology and modern teaching methodologies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support a bilingual and intercultural learning environment.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, contributing to their overall development.
  • Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives.
  • Assess student performance using a variety of methods, including written tests, class performance, and portfolios.
  • Stay up to date with educational trends and continuously improve teaching practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree with professional qualifications in Education.
  • Solid experience in teaching IB DP Japanese ab initio.
  • Solid experience in teaching Japanese in a secondary school environment.
  • Strong command of English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a bilingual working environment.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching a second subject.
  • Strong IT and curriculum development skills.
