The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Key Stage 1 Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful impact on young learners. This role involves delivering a dynamic, child-centred curriculum that blends academic rigor with creative, hands-on learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that reflect the school's philosophy of balanced, experiential learning.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports individualised learning and diverse needs.
  • Plan and implement a curriculum that promotes creative problem-solving and cross-curricular skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and innovative approach to teaching and learning.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, parents and staff to support student well-being and success.
  • Use play and child-led activities to enhance exploration, discovery and skill development.
  • Support the development of transferable skills through the school’s Skills for Learning Frameworks.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including potential involvement in the Director of Music role.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Key Stage 1 education.
  • Strong understanding of child development and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive learning environment.
  • Ability to plan and deliver a creative, child-centred curriculum.

Preferred

  • Experience with mixed-age classes or teaching Year 1 and 2.
  • Familiarity with the Skills for Learning Frameworks or similar innovative teaching approaches.
  • Experience in music education or willingness to contribute to the Director of Music role.
  • Passion for experiential and creative learning.
