The Opportunity:

As a Key Stage 3 Coordinator, you will provide academic and pastoral leadership for Years 7-9, supporting students through key transitions and ensuring their overall wellbeing. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success and development within a forward-thinking institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support a team of nine form tutors, ensuring effective pastoral care and academic guidance.
  • Coordinate and lead year group assemblies, school events, and extra-curricular activities.
  • Oversee the Year 9 GCSE option process and the Year 6 to 7 transition.
  • Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and other Deputy DSLs to ensure student safety and wellbeing.
  • Support the CCA programme and contribute to pastoral meetings and development.
  • Analyse report data and provide insights to support student progress.
  • Attend and contribute to CPD sessions, sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leaders, PSHE, EAL, and Healthcare professionals to support student needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a pastoral or leadership role within a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with the challenges faced by young people and the ability to provide support and guidance.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding, with willingness to undertake relevant training.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or leading in Key Stage 3.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and transition processes.
  • Ability to teach subjects such as Chemistry, Maths, PE, Business BTEC, Italian, German, or Dutch.
  • Experience with pastoral leadership and safeguarding procedures.
