The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Key Stage 3 Maths Coordinator to lead and support the Mathematics Faculty in a large, mixed 11-19 comprehensive school. This role offers the chance to influence teaching and learning, raise standards, and contribute to the school's mission of empowering students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the Key Stage 3 Mathematics curriculum across the school.
  • Deliver and oversee Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for colleagues.
  • Monitor and support the teaching and learning of Mathematics across the department.
  • Work closely with feeder schools to build strong relationships and ensure smooth transitions.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement in Mathematics.
  • Support the implementation of school-wide values and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and strategies.
  • Ensure consistent standards and progression in Mathematics for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Key Stage 3 Mathematics.
  • Strong commitment to teaching and learning in Mathematics.
  • Proven ability to raise standards and support student achievement.
  • Experience in delivering and leading CPD sessions.
  • Confident in monitoring and providing feedback on teaching practice.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a coordinating or leadership role within a school.
  • Familiarity with cross-phase collaboration and school improvement strategies.
  • Experience in working with feeder schools and transition planning.
  • Knowledge of assessment and data analysis in Mathematics.
