KS1 Tutor needed in Camberwell with experience in SEN support.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced KS1 tutor with strong English skills to provide support to students in Camberwell. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners, particularly those with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, individualised tuition to KS1 students
  • Support students with special educational needs using the Bright Heart Approach
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and education consultants
  • Prepare and follow learning plans tailored to each student's needs
  • Attend training sessions and ongoing professional development
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and feedback
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Collaborate with other tutors and education professionals

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong subject knowledge in KS1 curriculum areas
  • University qualification or currently studying for one
  • A-levels or equivalent
  • Current Enhanced DBS certificate (with children’s barred list check)
  • 2 professional references and a parent reference

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Passion for teaching and working with vulnerable children
  • Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred methods
  • Flexibility to tutor in person or online
