KS1 Tutor needed in Camberwell with SEN experience.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated KS1 Tutor to provide high-quality support to students in Camberwell. This role is ideal for someone with experience working with students with SEN and a passion for making a meaningful impact in education. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective tuition to KS1 students with SEN
  • Support students in developing academic and personal skills
  • Follow the Bright Heart Approach to ensure a nurturing and student-centred learning experience
  • Maintain detailed records and provide regular feedback to parents and the school
  • Attend training and development sessions to enhance teaching and safeguarding practices
  • Collaborate with other tutors and education consultants to ensure consistent support for students
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each student
  • Ensure a safe and respectful learning environment at all times

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong subject knowledge in KS1 curriculum areas
  • A university qualification or currently studying towards one
  • A current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Passion for teaching and supporting students with SEN

Preferred

  • Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods
  • Previous experience in SEN tuition or teaching
  • Familiarity with creating and following individual learning plans (ILPs)
  • Experience with online or in-person tutoring
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
