We are seeking a passionate and experienced KS2 Autism Specialist Teacher to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, individualized teaching to students with autism in KS2.
  • Develop and implement tailored curriculum plans that meet the specific needs of students.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff, parents, and external professionals to support student progress.
  • Monitor and assess student performance regularly, providing detailed feedback to parents and colleagues.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes student engagement and well-being.
  • Participate in the ongoing development and training of the specialist resource provision.
  • Support the transition of students from KS1 to KS2, ensuring a smooth and effective process.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through staff meetings, professional development, and shared planning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience working with autistic students in a primary setting.
  • Strong understanding of autism and specialist teaching approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and managing specialist resource provisions.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies.
  • Experience with curriculum design for students with additional needs.
  • Familiarity with Kagan techniques or collaborative learning models.
  • Experience with the use of technology in teaching and learning.
