The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced KS2 Autism Specialist Teacher to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized teaching to students with autism in KS2.
- Develop and implement tailored curriculum plans that meet the specific needs of students.
- Work collaboratively with other staff, parents, and external professionals to support student progress.
- Monitor and assess student performance regularly, providing detailed feedback to parents and colleagues.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes student engagement and well-being.
- Participate in the ongoing development and training of the specialist resource provision.
- Support the transition of students from KS1 to KS2, ensuring a smooth and effective process.
- Contribute to the wider school community through staff meetings, professional development, and shared planning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
- Proven experience working with autistic students in a primary setting.
- Strong understanding of autism and specialist teaching approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and managing specialist resource provisions.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies.
- Experience with curriculum design for students with additional needs.
- Familiarity with Kagan techniques or collaborative learning models.
- Experience with the use of technology in teaching and learning.
