The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated KS2 Learning Support Assistant to join its team starting in April 2026. This role is central to supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring they can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in Key Stage 2, particularly those with SEND, under the guidance of the Head of Learning Support.
  • Provide high-quality, individualized support to help students achieve their learning targets.
  • Promote independence and confidence in students through tailored interventions and activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a consistent and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of learning activities that align with curriculum objectives.
  • Monitor and record student progress regularly, sharing updates with the Head of Learning Support.
  • Encourage and support the social and emotional development of students.
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive practices across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and equality of opportunity.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from senior staff.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a diverse range of students.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational environment.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Experience with curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within education.
