KS2 SEND Teacher job opportunity with a focus on bridging the gap between KS2 and KS3.

The Opportunity:

As a KS2 SEND Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs in a unique KS3 primary-style classroom environment. You will deliver a tailored curriculum to meet the needs of year 7, 8, or 9 students, working closely with the SENCo and TA team to ensure a personalised approach to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a modified and bespoke curriculum tailored to the needs of SEND students.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCo and TA team to support student progress and well-being.
  • Manage a smaller than average class size, allowing for individualised attention and support.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum, focusing on bridging the gap between KS2 and KS3.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and carers.
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive teaching strategies and resources.
  • Participate in staff meetings and planning sessions to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Support the school’s commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in SEND education.
  • Proven ability to deliver a modified and inclusive curriculum.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with young people with a range of special educational needs.
  • Commitment to supporting the holistic development of students.

Preferred

  • Experience in primary education or bridging KS2 and KS3.
  • Familiarity with SEND frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and individual learning plans.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and resources.
