KS2 Tutor with SEN Experience needed in Woking – daytime availability required.

The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced KS2 Tutor with SEN experience to provide high-quality tuition in the Surrey area. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with students with special educational needs and who is available for daytime tutoring (25 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective KS2 tuition tailored to students with special educational needs
- Develop and implement individual learning plans that cater to students’ academic and emotional needs
- Communicate regularly with parents and school staff to ensure consistent support for students
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and provide regular feedback
- Attend training sessions and follow Bright Heart’s safeguarding and tutoring standards
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to enhance motivation and confidence
- Adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles and abilities
- Ensure a safe and respectful learning environment at all times
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Strong subject knowledge in KS2 curriculum areas
- University qualification or currently studying towards one, with A-levels
- Valid Enhanced DBS certificate (with children’s barred list check)
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
- Availability for daytime tutoring (25 hours per week)
Preferred
- Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred tutoring methods
- Experience working with students with severe SEN
- Previous experience in safeguarding and child protection
- Familiarity with individual learning plans (ILPs) and SEMH support
- Flexibility to tutor both in-person and online
