The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated KS3 and KS4 Maths Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful impact on students’ academic and emotional development. This role offers the chance to inspire a love of learning and support students with SEMH needs through a structured, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3–4, aligned with the UK curriculum.
- Support students in building confidence, problem-solving skills, and a growth mindset in mathematics.
- Collaborate with therapists, pastoral staff, and learning support assistants to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Contribute to the development of enrichment activities, off-site learning, and community initiatives.
- Implement trauma-informed and restorative teaching practices to support student wellbeing.
- Work closely with multi-agency professionals to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and curriculum development projects.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong knowledge of the UK mathematics curriculum (KS2–KS4)
- Understanding of SEMH/SEND and neurodiverse learners
- Commitment to trauma-informed, restorative practice
- Excellent communication, adaptability, and teamwork
Preferred
- Experience teaching in a special or alternative provision setting
- Knowledge of therapeutic or low-arousal behaviour strategies (e.g. Team Teach/MAPA CPI)
- Experience working collaboratively with multi-agency professionals
