The Opportunity:
A KS3 Forest School Teacher is needed to deliver an engaging, practical curriculum for pupils aged 11–14. This role combines classroom teaching with outdoor learning to support academic progress, wellbeing, and personal development through environmental and land-based education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver KS3 curriculum learning through environmental and outdoor contexts
- Work with the Forest School Lead to develop a progressive programme
- Inspire pupils through hands-on, experiential learning
- Support inclusion, wellbeing, and positive behaviour
- Maintain high standards of health & safety and safeguarding
- Promote sustainability and outdoor learning across the school
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate outdoor learning into the broader curriculum
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- QTS or relevant KS3 teaching experience
- Forest School Level 3 (or willingness to train)
- Strong behaviour management and inclusive practice
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
Preferred
- Experience in SEND/SEMH or alternative provision
- Passion for outdoor learning and sustainability
- Ability to work in a hands-on, practical environment
