Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons tailored to the needs of KS3 students.
  • Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs through a compassionate and structured approach.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement the school’s curriculum and Refocus programme.
  • Provide high-quality feedback and critique to help students improve their learning and personal development.
  • Promote a culture of respect, leadership, and self-belief among students.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and external agencies.
  • Ensure the safe and effective delivery of lessons in a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of teaching and learning across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Key Stage 3 education.
  • Proven ability to work with students with complex needs, including social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and personal development.
  • Experience in alternative provision or special educational needs settings.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering creative and real-world learning opportunities.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies for student engagement.
  • Experience with curriculum development and leadership.
  • Familiarity with post-16 pathways and transitions.
