The Opportunity:
As a Landscaper, you will be responsible for maintaining the extensive and beautiful grounds of a prestigious institution, ensuring that all outdoor areas are cared for to the highest standard. This role is ideal for someone passionate about horticulture and committed to delivering exceptional results in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair assigned areas, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes.
- Install, maintain, and replace fencing throughout the College grounds.
- Carry out shed removals and installations as required.
- Deliver soft and hard landscaping projects in line with departmental plans.
- Perform routine tree and hedge maintenance, including pruning and trimming.
- Manage grass cutting operations, including lawns and meadows, to ensure a well-maintained appearance.
- Conduct leaf blowing and seasonal collection to maintain clean and safe outdoor environments.
- Ensure the safe use and operation of equipment and machinery used in horticultural maintenance.
- Adhere to current health and safety legislation and best practices at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Level 2 certificate in Horticulture or relevant experience.
- Chainsaw certificates in CS 30.1, 30.2, 31, CS 32, CS 47, CS 48.
- Valid UK manual driving licence.
- General knowledge of horticulture and fencing.
- Ability to use initiative to identify and resolve problems.
Preferred
- NPTC tractor driving certificate.
- NPTC PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates.
- Basic tree survey qualification.
