The Opportunity:

As a Language and Literature Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping students’ understanding of language, culture, and identity through engaging, inquiry-based instruction. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach MYP and DP Language and Literature courses, including English A: Language and Literature at Standard and Higher Level.
  • Design concept-driven, inquiry-based units aligned with IB philosophy and school values.
  • Engage students in close reading, analysis, and creative expression across a wide range of global and local texts.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and language levels.
  • Integrate technology and varied media to enhance learning and digital literacy.
  • Foster a classroom environment that celebrates multiple perspectives and connects learning to the Lao and regional context.
  • Develop assessments aligned with MYP and DP criteria that measure both process and understanding.
  • Provide timely, meaningful feedback that promotes reflection and growth.
  • Serve as a homeroom/advisory teacher, supporting students’ well-being and personal development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field.
  • Recognized teaching qualification/licensure.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience teaching secondary English.
  • Experience teaching IB MYP and/or DP Language and Literature.
  • Strong understanding of inquiry-based, student-centered pedagogy.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with intercultural education and global perspectives.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and intercultural skills.
