The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate Lay Chaplain to lead and support the spiritual life of the school, guiding both students and staff on their faith journey. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a school that values and promotes Catholic teaching and community spirit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the spiritual life of the school in accordance with Catholic teachings.
- Provide pastoral care and support to students and staff, promoting a faith-based environment.
- Plan and deliver religious education and liturgical activities across the school.
- Collaborate with the school leadership and pastoral team to ensure the integration of faith into all aspects of school life.
- Support students in their personal and spiritual development through guidance and mentorship.
- Participate in school events and contribute to the overall mission and values of the institution.
- Maintain communication with the school’s chaplaincy team and diocesan authorities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safeguarding and child protection policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A strong commitment to Catholic faith and values.
- Experience in pastoral care or religious education within a school setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents.
- Understanding of Catholic doctrine and liturgical practices.
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and online search as part of the application process.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a chaplaincy role within a Catholic school.
- Knowledge of the Catholic curriculum and its implementation in schools.
- Experience in delivering religious education to students aged 11-16.
- Familiarity with the Archdiocese of Liverpool and its pastoral guidelines.
