Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality English curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
- Lead and support a team of teachers, providing guidance, mentoring, and professional development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, using data to inform teaching and improve outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues to implement innovative teaching strategies and initiatives.
- Engage with parents and the wider community to promote student achievement and school values.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the English department.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being and engagement.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and share best practices across the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in leading a department or team.
- Proven track record of raising student achievement and outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and current educational research.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching.
Preferred
- Experience in a high-performing school or multi-academy trust.
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement initiatives.
- Experience with cross-phase or multi-academy trust collaboration.
- Ability to contribute to school-wide leadership and strategic development.
