The Opportunity:

As a Lead Practitioner Maths, you will lead and support the development of teaching and learning across the faculty, driving improvement and raising standards in mathematics education. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence and shape educational practice while contributing to the school’s mission of student excellence and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the development of maths teaching and learning across the faculty
  • Work closely with the Assistant Headteacher and wider school team to ensure consistent and high-quality educational outcomes
  • Drive improvement initiatives and share best practices across the department
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed
  • Mentor and develop other maths practitioners to enhance teaching standards
  • Contribute to the development of the maths curriculum and assessment strategies
  • Support the school’s vision for excellence through collaboration and innovation
  • Ensure a culture of continuous professional development within the maths department

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in maths education
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Experience in leading and improving teaching and learning in a school setting
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement

Preferred

  • Experience in senior leadership or aspiring to take on leadership roles
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies
  • Knowledge of science specialism and cross-curricular links
  • Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
