The Opportunity:
As a Lead Practitioner Maths, you will lead and support the development of teaching and learning across the faculty, driving improvement and raising standards in mathematics education. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the development of maths teaching and learning across the faculty
- Work closely with the Assistant Headteacher and wider school team to ensure consistent and high-quality educational outcomes
- Drive improvement initiatives and share best practices across the department
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed
- Mentor and develop other maths practitioners to enhance teaching standards
- Contribute to the development of the maths curriculum and assessment strategies
- Support the school’s vision for excellence through collaboration and innovation
- Ensure a culture of continuous professional development within the maths department
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in maths education
- Proven track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Experience in leading and improving teaching and learning in a school setting
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
Preferred
- Experience in senior leadership or aspiring to take on leadership roles
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies
- Knowledge of science specialism and cross-curricular links
- Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
