Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the delivery of high-quality Science teaching and learning in Chemistry and Physics.
  • Develop and implement effective curriculum strategies that align with the school's vision and standards.
  • Mentor and coach other Science teachers to enhance their practice and professional development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school and Multi-Academy Trust to share best practices and drive improvement.
  • Engage with the wider community through extracurricular activities and partnerships.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and high expectations within the Science department.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and initiatives that support student achievement and well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in Science, specifically in Chemistry and Physics.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a Science department.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to deliver inspiring, high-quality lessons.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to mentor and support colleagues.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with multi-academy trust structures and collaborative working.
  • Experience with extracurricular activities and community engagement.
  • Strong track record in improving student outcomes and achievement.
